Component level amp design
The developers at Positive Grid have modeled the best-sounding guitar amplifiers down to the component level, including the transformers, tubes, resistors and capacitors. The result is an extraordinarily realistic playing feel, the amp reacts extremely sensitively and authentically to different velocities, playing techniques or the volume control of the guitar - just like the original amps!

With the BIAS HEAD's Amp Match function, the sound of any guitar amp can be accurately captured and reproduced, whether it's your buddy's rare boutique amp or an ultra-cool passage on a legendary recording. After matching, the sound can be adjusted to individual preferences using either the controls on the front panel or the included BIAS Amp app. You can swap preamp and power tubes, change the number of gain stages, try a different tone stack, and much, much more.

Create your signature sound
Load any amp model and change the circuit layout with just a few simple steps on the front panel of the BIAS HEAD. It couldn't be easier: With a rotary switch you can turn an ultra-clean transistor amplifier into a fat, warm tube amp or a hybrid version of various classics. You can use a control to determine how much the individual gain levels increase and thus drive the subsequent ones into saturation. Another rotary switch determines how many gain levels the amp has - give it one more gain level and you'll have your creamy lead sound with easy sustain. Are you a fan of well-maintained power amplifier distortion? There is a regulator for that too. With a toggle switch you activate the cabinet simulation when you need it.

BIAS HEAD offers you a wide range from glassy clean sounds to ultra-mean distortion sounds. Of course, the characteristic tone control network is loaded with every amp model, it should be authentic. But if you want to know what a British rock amp sounds like with the tone control of an American classic amp - no problem, it's possible!

Live and in the studio only the best
On the back of the BIAS HEAD you will find all the connections for studio and live operation. The speaker output provides 600 watts at 8 ohms (approx. 800 watts at 4 ohms), which should be more than enough even for large halls. You can connect external effects via the FX Loop. Do you play with in-ear monitoring? No problem, in addition to the balanced XLR outputs for the FOH mixer, there are also unbalanced outputs as jack sockets. All factory sounds can be changed, overwritten and saved directly in the BIAS HEAD. Using the software, you can also quickly load in completely new sounds if the gig requires it.
