The source of inspiration for the G290 Limited Edition is the ever-popular G290FAT - one of Cort's top sellers in 2019. However, the G290 LE was developed with the idea of ​​taking the opposite path in terms of sound. On the one hand, the familiar boutique design, the session style concept with the Voice Tone VTH-77 humbuckers and hardware was retained, but a mahogany body and neck and an ebony fingerboard were used to achieve a warmer, thicker and more singing tone receive.

7mm flamed maple top on African mahogany body

A maple top on a mahogany body is one of the most classic and common wood combinations with a warm, thick and singing sound, simply an unbeatable combination. The beautifully flamed, 7mm thick maple top in AAAA quality is painted in Laggon Beach and makes the G290LE absolutely unique.

African mahogany neck with neck stiffening strips

The mahogany neck gives the guitar an overall warmer and more singing tone, the additional stiffening of the neck using graphite strips between the 12th fret and the neck-body transition give the neck additional stability.

Ebony fingerboard

Ebony is the ultimate in fingerboard wood. The deep black wood is not only a visual eye-catcher, it is also incredibly smooth to play and gives the sound a certain liveliness.

Voiced Tone VTH-77 Pickup Set

The VTH-77 humbuckers have a little more output power to suit modern rock and metal sounds, but they clear up wonderfully when turned back and so a lot of sounds in the direction of classic rock and blues can be achieved.

1 Volume & 1 Tone, 5 Way Switch

The 5-way switch has specially developed wiring so that you get an open and bell-like single coil sound in the intermediate positions 2 and 4 and the powerful humbucker sound in the other positions.

Cort® CFA-III tremolo

The new Cort CFA-III trem system is an extremely stable construction: the base plate, the block and the string saddles are made of stainless steel and thus contribute to a better sound and more sustain.

Clamping mechanisms

The clamping mechanisms have excellent tuning stability and make tuning easier. The string is simply inserted through the opening and clamped through the wheel screw from behind, so there are no more windings on the axle, which significantly improves tuning stability.

Compound Radius Fingerboard(12-16”)

A great feature for all guitarists who prefer a smooth transition from the low to high register of the fingerboard. The higher you play on the fretboard, the flatter and more comfortable the radius becomes.

Stainless steel frets

Stainless steel frets are completely resistant to wear and corrosion. The wide and high type frets here have an excellent response and articulation when playing chords and a clear tone when soloing.
